1.1.2 โครงสร้างไวยากรณ์
โครงสร้างประโยคA: How was your weekend?B: ประธาน + V2 + ส่วนขยาย “How was your weekend?” (เมื่อวันหยุดที่ผ่านมาเป็นอย่างไรบ้าง)“What did you do?” (คุณทำอะไรเมื่อวันหยุดที่ผ่านมา) It was great. (มันยอดเยี่ยมมาก)It was ok. (มันโอเคเลย)I visited my grandparents and watched a movie. (ฉันไปเยี่ยมปู่ย่าตายายและดูภาพยนตร์)I went to the temple with my family. (ฉันเดินทางไปวัดกับครอบครัวของฉัน)
1.9.2 การแปรผันปัจจุบันสู่อดีตกาล
การใช้ Past Simple Tense มีโครงสร้างคือ Subject + Verb2 หรือ Verb ที่ผันเป็นรูปอดีต ใช้กับเหตุการณ์หรือการกระทำ ที่เกิดขึ้นและจบลงในอดีต มักมีกลุ่มคำ ในเรื่องราวของอดีตมาเพิ่มในประโยคด้วย เช่น yesterday(เมื่อวานนี้), last night (คืนที่แล้ว), lastmonth (เดือนที่แล้ว), ago(แต่ก่อน), once (ครั้งหนึ่งที่ผ่านมาหรือครั้งหนึ่งในอดีต) ตัวอย่างประโยค มีดังนี้ การใช้คำกริยาเพื่อบ่งบอกอดีตกาล คือ Verb จะเป็นตัวกำหนดที่ทำให้ประโยคเป็นเรื่องในอดีตที่พูดไปแล้ว วิธีการเปลี่ยนคำ กริยาให้เป็นรูปอดีตมีดังนี้
